KEEP ISLINGTON MOVING
Say No to Low Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTNs)

Dartmouth Park
We have recently become aware of a new LTN development planned jointly by Islington and Camden Councils (what could possibly go wrong?)) and described here: https://www.islington.gov.uk/roads/people-friendly-streets/liveable-neighbourhoods/dartmouth-park-healthy-neighbourhood . As illustrated in the map opposite five new traffic camera filters are envisaged with no less than three on Dartmouth Park Hill! Whilst this development is outside the area normally covered by KIM it can be expected, like previous LTNs, to have a detrimental effect on the free movement of people and goods within North London generally and therefore within Islington itself. The "Consultation" process is already fairly far advanced so we urge those living or working in the area who will be adversely affected to organise a campaign group and start lobbying the councils as a matter of urgency. If you believe KIM can assist in this respect please feel free to reach out to us (go to Contact page here).

Update 25.7.24. It seems the admirable Highgate Society is already on the case and has already published a balanced and detailed critique of the proposals here: https://highgatesociety.com/dartmouth-park-area-healthy-neighbourhood/ We recommend that anyone with reservations about this scheme should follow the guidance on their website and respond to the Councils as soon as possible - Phase 2 of the consultation finishes on August 18, which in itself is a ridiculously short timescale, as the Society points out.
